About This Job

Intercontinental Malta is looking to recruit an Assistant Night Manager to join their team on a full-time basis. You will work very closely with the Front Office Manager to ensure smooth daily operations. In this role you will be working in a fast pace environment and in a challenging role which will give the opportunity to learn, grow, and be successful.

Responsibilities

· Oversee and manage to the overall operation of the Front Office department

· Guide the Front Office team to ensure guests receive prompt and cordial attention, and personal recognition

· Develop and deliver formal training plans and sessions, in conjunction with the hotel's training policies.

· Take responsibility for monitoring and reviewing the performance of the employees.

· Schedule and regularly conduct routine inspections of the area under their control.

· Work together with the Front office Manager to compile the departmental work schedules.

· Assume responsibility for the main cash float and ensure that the Front Office agents maintain it according to the established policies.

· Ensure that all efforts are being made to maximize room sales and all other hotel revenue and attend daily briefings and other meetings as required.

· Ensure that correct postings of bills and record backups are maintained.

· Be familiar with all Sales Promotions and promote in-house activities in all areas ensuring staff is briefed on all activities.

· Train, support and assist all the Front Office staff by having hands-on approach.

· Cooperate with team members / supervisors from all other departments, in particular Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Room Service, Maintenance and Front Office.

Guest Experience

· Is the main point of guest contact during the night hours of operation.

· Anticipates guest needs, and handle guest inquiries in a helpful and attentive manner.

· Monitors all wakeup calls sheets at telecommunication area.

· Ensures all issues pertaining to guest satisfaction are met and that follow up is completed on a timely basis.

Responsible Business

· Monitors and supervises all incidents at night and report accordingly.

· Complete the night audit in line with the standards and procedures of the hotel.

· Oversees all the postings from the day shift and correct it where needed.

· Checks the routing instruction for all guest account and modify where applicable.

· Ensures all the back-up documents for next day departure are ready for review.

· Develops a close and harmonious working relationship with all hotel departments.

Qualifications

· Previous experience working at management level, within a restaurant / Hotel environment

· Customer focused and ability to listen and respond to demanding customer needs by ensuring high delivering standards of customer service

· Interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage, develop and inspire workforce

· Flexible to work within operational hours and not limited to (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends)

· Maintain positive attitude, warm personality, attention to detail and smart appearance
