Branch Officer

Within our Branches, the job opportunities are various. As one of our Branch Officers, your main duties would first and foremost revolve around ensuring a continuous Customer Centric approach, by providing clients with the best service possible to fit their financial requirements. You will also be empowered through the opportunity of making recommendations for the bettering of our processes, for Customer and Business wins alike.

You will be responsible for:

• Assisting the customers in their basic banking needs, whilst educating them accordingly, enabling them to easily use the Bank’s Alternative Delivery Channels, as well as be available to guide such clients even further whenever necessary;
• Servicing existing and prospective customers by identifying the best products or services that fit their respective financial needs, whilst keeping in line with the Bank’s objectives, compliance guidelines and established procedures;
• Being attentive to detail as well as proactive, in order to ensure developing every opportunity to identify and act on potential leads for further business growth;
• Being able to work both independently and as part of a team, keeping in mind the lively dynamic, the fast-paced environment and the versatility of our customer base;
• Leading the day through a constant application of prioritisation skills that the tasks and responsibilities at hand shall require;
• Performing application due-diligence, and assisting in the assessment and sanctioning of credit facilities within reasonable timeframes and according to the Bank’s Credit policy;
• Supporting and liaising with other Branches and Departments within Bank of Valletta;
• Carrying out various support duties, including any required administrative and reporting processes while supporting cross-functional efforts in providing an excellent service to all clients.

All necessary Support and Training will be provided by the Bank, including through its own Accredited Learning & Development Academy.

What should you have?

• Possess a minimum of 4 O Levels at Grade 5 or C or better including in English Language (other Financial related MQF Level 3 and 4 equivalent or higher educational paths may be considered);
• Strong Maltese speaking and writing skills;

Preference may be given to candidates with previous experience in performing Client-Facing roles within a Banking environment in other Banks, Financial and/or Investment institutions.

Furthermore, you are to:

• Hold the ability to work under pressure, while still providing accuracy and efficiency in your work;
• Be highly responsible, committed, customer centric and an excellent team player.
• Possess good communication, analytical and negotiation skills;
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office computer applications.
