25 Technician and electrician jobs in Malta

Technician and electrician roles are among the most consistently open jobs in Malta. The vacancies below cover electrical, mechanical, HVAC, automotive and maintenance work. Nearly all of them come from Maltese employers hiring directly, including car dealerships, manufacturers, food producers, hotels, hospitals and energy contractors. Most are full-time, and the work is spread across Qormi, Marsa, San Gwann and Birkirkara.

Why this trade stays in demand

Malta keeps building, and everything built has to be maintained. Air conditioning runs for most of the year. The vehicle fleet is large for the size of the island. Manufacturing and food production sites run plant that cannot wait for a technician to become available. Together that keeps demand steady through the year rather than seasonal, which is not true of every sector here.

Stand out when you apply

Put your licence class in the first line of your CV. Several of these vacancies name Licence A or Licence B explicitly, and applications that leave it out get slower replies. List the equipment you have worked on by name, such as chillers, compressors, HV systems, CNC or forklifts, rather than as general plant maintenance. If you drive, say so: field service roles depend on it.

New to working in Malta?

Most of these employers will consider applicants without previous Malta experience, but they do check that your trade qualification is recognised here. MFHEA is the official body that compares foreign qualifications to Maltese levels. EU and EEA citizens work without a permit. Everyone else needs one tied to an employer, so see identita.gov.mt.
