Role Overview
Heroix is collaborating with our Client, a respected organisation within the corporate services sector, to recruit a Client Accounting Supervisor. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is ready to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, oversee accounting activities, support team performance, and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of accurate financial information while maintaining strong relationships with clients and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting Oversight: Supervise accounting engagements from start to completion, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with established quality standards and deadlines.
- Client Portfolio Management: Manage a varied portfolio of local and international clients, acting as a trusted contact and ensuring their accounting requirements are addressed effectively.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, management information, and other financial documentation to support informed business decisions.
- Tax and Regulatory Compliance: Oversee VAT-related obligations and assist with the preparation and review of corporate tax calculations and submissions.
- Team Leadership: Guide, coach, and support junior team members by sharing knowledge, providing feedback, and encouraging continuous professional growth.
- Client Relations: Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, responding to queries and providing reliable financial guidance when required.
- Operational Monitoring: Track workflow, budgets, billing activities, and assignment progress, providing updates to management where necessary.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting procedures and contribute towards improving departmental efficiency and service delivery.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
- Education: Fully qualified Accountant with a recognised professional accounting qualification.
- Experience: At least 4 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally gained within an accounting firm, corporate services provider, or professional services environment. Experience managing a portfolio of clients will be considered advantageous.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the confidence to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates effective leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate, support, and develop team members.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, together with strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Self-Motivated: A proactive and dependable professional who takes ownership of responsibilities and strives for high-quality results.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of analysing challenges, applying sound judgement, and implementing practical solutions to improve processes and outcomes.
