HireHound Recruitment in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Ducting Manufacturer to join their client's team on a full-time basis. As a Ducting Manufacturer, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling ductwork for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The role involves using various tools and techniques to cut, shape, and assemble duct components to precise specifications. Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial in ensuring that all ducts are fabricated to meet industry standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fabrication & Shaping
- Use specialised tools to cut and shape sheet metal or pitre duct materials to create heating and air-conditioning ducts.
- Place sheets on the worktable and measure and mark them accurately according to specifications using a tape measure and marker.
2. Preparation & Cutting
- Cut wedge-shaped grooves as marked to facilitate proper folding, utilising a straightedge and knife.
- Fold the sheets to form rectangular ducts and secure the open edges using a pneumatic stapler for a sturdy assembly.
3. Sealing & Finishing
- Cut aluminium tape to the appropriate length and apply it to the edges of the duct to ensure an air-tight seal.
- Write the model number on completed sections of duct with a felt pen to ensure proper identification and tracking.
4. Storage and Organisation
- Move finished ducts to designated storage areas, maintaining an organised and safe workspace.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience or technical training in sheet metal work or duct fabrication;
- Proficient in using tools and equipment for cutting, shaping, and assembling ductwork;
- Ability to measure and mark materials accurately;
- Skilled in folding and securing duct components using appropriate techniques and tools;
- Understanding of HVAC systems and ductwork requirements;
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills;
- Ability to work efficiently and follow safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
