The Role

Camel Brand is seeking to recruit a motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join its growing team. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the Company's financial operations, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring the continued financial stability and compliance of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and report directly to the Board of Directors in setting and driving the Company's strategic vision and financial objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial records, payroll (where applicable), and other statutory and management reporting requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a robust budgeting and forecasting process across the Company.
  • Prepare and present timely management accounts, financial reports, and key performance indicators for management and Board review.
  • Prepare annual financial statements for audit purposes and liaise with external auditors throughout the audit process.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders, ensuring the timely submission of statutory returns, reports, and payments.
  • Prepare VAT returns and other related VAT submissions.
  • Monitor billing, collections, cash flow, and working capital to ensure the Company's financial stability and operational requirements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies.

Skills and Requirements

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a senior position.
  • A recognised accounting qualification.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Maltese.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Candidates with previous experience in the FMCG industry will be given preference.
