We are a reputable car rental company representing international brand names, and we are seeking a reliable and proactive Fleet and Rental Assistant to join our team.
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for preparing vehicles for rental, moving vehicles between locations, and assisting with the day-to-day operation of the rental station. The role also involves supporting rental agents during busy periods and carrying out rental counter duties when required.
The selected candidate will be based at our Gozo station but may occasionally be required to provide support at other locations in Malta.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare rental vehicles for customer collection, including cleaning, inspecting, and ensuring they meet company standards.
- Move, park, deliver, and collect vehicles as required.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and accurately record any damage or maintenance issues.
- Assist Rental Agents with the day-to-day operation of the rental station.
- Assist customers with basic enquiries and provide information regarding rental procedures and services.
- Carry out rental counter duties when required, including processing rental agreements, handling payments, and completing related documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with routine administrative tasks.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Provide station cover when required.
Requirements
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to work, including shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, responsible, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience in driving, vehicle handling, customer service, hospitality, transport, or a similar environment will be considered an asset.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied position combining vehicle handling, customer interaction, and operational support. Experience in a similar environment is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
