Role Overview

The Group ESG Manager will be responsible for leading the Company's sustainability initiatives, with a primary focus on ensuring compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This role involves close collaboration with various business units to integrate sustainability practices into the organisation's core strategies, operations, and reporting frameworks. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the Company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.

Key Responsibilities

The Group ESG Manager will take charge of ensuring compliance with sustainability directives and integrating ESG initiatives across the organisation. Main responsibilities include:

  • Lead CSRD Compliance: Implement the Group's strategy for compliance with CSRD requirements, including developing and communicating necessary ESG policies and procedures.
  • Sustainability Reporting: Oversee the preparation and submission of sustainability reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, particularly for CSRD compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to integrate ESG initiatives into business strategies and daily operations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage employees, suppliers, and customers to advance and promote the Company's ESG initiatives.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in setting up systems for data collection, tracking sustainability metrics, and performance analysis.
  • Monitor Regulatory Changes: Stay updated on regulatory changes and ESG best practices, implementing strategies to improve environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance practices.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Experience: A relevant qualification in Finance, Compliance, Law, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or any related field is required. Prior experience in a team or project management role is essential.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Maltese is required.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, particularly in a complex and dynamic business environment.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting methodologies is an asset, though training will be provided. Proficiency in data analysis tools and advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Organisation: Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle a demanding workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-Motivated: A proactive approach with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical thinker, solution-driven, with excellent attention to detail.
