Head of Compliance – ( 20 hours - Part-Time)
About This Job
Head of Compliance – International Energy Group ( 20 hours - Part-Time)
- Influence strategic decisions with direct Board-level access
- Shape compliance and AML practices across international markets
- Enjoy leadership autonomy with a flexible 20-hour week
Joining an international energy holding with business interests spanning the UK, Malta, Africa and Dubai offers the opportunity to shape compliance practices across a diverse, cross-border organisation. You will help strengthen governance, promote ethical business practices and ensure the group has appropriate measures to identify and manage compliance risks. This role provides international exposure and the opportunity to influence how compliance supports sustainable business growth without the complexity of operating within a dedicated financial services compliance function.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Board, you will take ownership of the compliance function as its sole dedicated professional. This provides significant autonomy, visibility and the opportunity to establish practical policies and procedures tailored to the group's activities. You will advise senior leadership, raise awareness of compliance risks and help embed a consistent approach to governance across the organisation's international operations.
The role combines compliance leadership with practical responsibilities in anti-money laundering (AML), due diligence and risk assessment. You will help establish proportionate controls to identify potential financial crime risks associated with business relationships, counterparties and transactions, while supporting appropriate screening, escalation and record-keeping procedures. You will also assess the group's exposure to relevant AML and sanctions requirements across its jurisdictions. With a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week, this is an opportunity to apply your expertise in a flexible, strategically influential position.
You will:
- Develop and maintain the group's compliance framework
- Conduct AML risk assessments and counterparty due diligence
- Oversee sanctions screening and suspicious activity escalation procedures
- Advise senior leadership on compliance risks and governance
Skills and Experience
- 7–10 years' experience in Compliance, AML, Governance or Risk, including previous experience as a Head of Compliance, Compliance Manager or Senior Compliance Manager.
- Practical knowledge of AML controls, customer and counterparty due diligence, sanctions screening, risk assessments and financial crime prevention.
- Experience advising senior management or Board members, with the ability to manage compliance activities independently across international operations.
Salary / Remuneration: € 40,000 – 55,000 for the 20 hours
