Role Overview

The Head of Human Resources will oversee all HR functions within the organisation heading a unit comprised of 6 HR professionals. This strategic leadership role requires driving HR initiatives that align with the company's broader objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

• Developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Providing expert guidance to senior management on HR matters.

Talent Acquisition and Retention:

• Overseeing recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
• Creating and managing retention programs to attract and retain top tier talent.

Employee Relations:

• Promoting a positive work environment and fostering strong relations across departments.
• Handling employee grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary matters.

Staff Development:

• Identifying training needs and designing tailored development programs.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory training requirements and enhancing staff potential through coaching and mentoring.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Managing compensation structures, benefits, and incentives.
• Overseeing payroll processes and supporting performance appraisal systems.

HR Policies and Procedures:

• Developing and updating HR policies and ensuring adherence to employment law and regulations.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Required:

• Excellent communication skills in Maltese and English.
• Proven experience in training, coaching, or personal development.
• Strong interpersonal, motivational, and customer-focused skills.
• Well-developed presentation, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
  
• Knowledge of local employment legislative framework and practices.
• IT proficiency in MS Office.

Desirable:

• CIPD or HR Management related degree.
• 10 years of experience in a financial institution with 5 years in HR.
• Familiarity with UK HR legislative framework.
