Role Overview

The Head of Industrial Operations will lead the Company's operational activities, ensuring operational activities are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with business objectives. Working closely with senior management, this role will oversee day-to-day operations while supporting future business growth, driving operational improvements, and contributing to the successful development of new facilities, and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Direct and oversee the Business' daily operations, ensuring resources are effectively managed to deliver high-quality services & products while maintaining operational efficiency and meeting agreed objectives.
• Project Coordination: Work closely with internal departments to support the successful planning, delivery, and completion of projects within established budgets, timelines, and quality expectations.
• Resource Management: Plan workforce requirements, equipment utilisation, and operational assets to maximise productivity, minimise downtime, and identify opportunities for future expansion.
• Business Improvement: Support commercial activities by assisting with project costing, operational planning, and service enhancements while aligning operational delivery with the Company's long-term strategic direction.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor operational performance, review budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators, and recommend initiatives that improve efficiency, profitability, and delivery.
• Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary operational contact for clients, ensuring enquiries and concerns are addressed professionally while consistently delivering an excellent customer experience.
• Leadership and Team Development: Build a positive working environment to a major technical workforce by mentoring employees, encouraging collaboration, workforce scheduling, supporting professional development, and promoting continuous improvement across operational teams.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with established procedures, contractual obligations, health and safety requirements, and relevant regulatory standards.
• Operational Development: Contribute to the planning and implementation of new operational facilities by supporting operational readiness, developing procedures, preparing risk assessments, and assisting with procurement and contractor coordination.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Education: A qualification in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management, or another relevant discipline would be considered an asset.
• Experience: A minimum of five years' experience in operations management or a similar leadership role is required. Previous experience within industrial operations, or a comparable operational setups will be considered very advantageous.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
• Communication Skills: Able to communicate confidently with colleagues, clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and senior stakeholders while maintaining a professional and solutions-focused approach.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate teams, build positive working relationships, and foster collaboration across multiple departments.
• Technical Skills: Sound understanding of operational planning, project coordination, budgeting, performance monitoring, risk assessment, health and safety practices, and regulatory compliance. The ability to interpret operational data and produce practical solutions is essential.
• Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects and operational activities remain on schedule.
• Self-Motivated: Proactive, accountable, and committed to achieving operational excellence while continuously seeking opportunities to improve business performance.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify operational challenges, evaluate solutions, make informed decisions, and implement improvements that enhance efficiency and quality.
