About This Job
The Grand Hotel Gozo is seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Maintenance to lead and oversee the hotel's maintenance operations, ensuring that all facilities, equipment and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards.
This is a hands-on position, requiring someone with strong technical knowledge who is willing and able to carry out maintenance and repair works personally, while also coordinating and supervising maintenance activities across the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and carry out day-to-day maintenance and repair works throughout the hotel.
- Perform plastering, electrical repairs and general building maintenance.
- Ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of hotel facilities, rooms, public areas, kitchens and technical installations.
- Identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Coordinate external contractors and specialist service providers when required.
- Manage maintenance materials, tools, equipment and related costs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Lead and organise the maintenance team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance or technical position, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Strong practical experience in plastering and electrical works is essential.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a maintenance team.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and prioritise tasks effectively.
- A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
