About This Job

Continental Cars Ltd specialises in Automotive and has an opportunity for a High Voltage Expert to join our team on full-time basis.

The High Voltage Expert is responsible for diagnosing faults within the vehicle’s high voltage system and performing repairs on high voltage components, including the high voltage battery. The HVE ensures that high voltage vehicles are safe to work on by following and promoting strict safety protocols. This role also involves supporting complex tasks related to high voltage systems and providing technical assistance as needed. Additionally, the HVE is expected to educate and guide other personnel on high voltage safety practices.

Main Duties & Responsibility

  • Carry out de-energisation and re-energisation of the high voltage system and ensure that the high voltage system is truly disconnected.
  • Intervene to carry out controlled de-energisation when automatic de-energisation through diagnostic systems fails, ensuring the high voltage system is safely isolated before any further work is conducted.
  • Carry out classification of the high voltage battery and ensure all documentation is correctly filled in.
  • Carry out complex diagnosis on the high voltage system and its components. 
  • Carry out repairs and/ or replacement of high voltage components as per manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Perform repairs as per repair manuals and using the special tools required to safely conduct the repair.
  • Perform diagnosis and repairs on systems fitted on a vehicle with a conventional engine.
  • Document repairs and diagnosis performed on job card.
  • Submit technical support tickets to the franchise’s support teams in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Provide support to High Voltage Technicians during complex diagnostic and repair procedures.
  • Deliver training to personnel on high voltage safety protocols
  • Make proper use of tools and equipment, including personal protective clothing provided.
  • Keep the work area clean and tidy to promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Adhere strictly to the health and safety regulations and also to company and franchise-required standards.
  • Attend training organised locally and overseas when and as required.
  • Carry out additional duties assigned by the Workshop Manager as required.
