Position Summary
As a receptionist, you will be one of the first and most lasting impressions our guests will have of Casa Bonavita. You will welcome guests with professionalism and genuine care, ensuring every interaction reflects the property’s understated sense of luxury. We are looking for one team member at the reception to enhance the hotel's cultural authenticity and assist with light administrative tasks with local suppliers.
Working closely with your colleagues in the Front Office, Restaurant, Housekeeping and Spa departments, you will play an essential role in maintaining the smooth daily operations of the hotel. Flexibility, team spirit, and attention to detail are key qualities for this role.
Main Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, perform check-ins and check-outs with efficiency and professionalism.
- Assist the management team wherever required with light administrative tasks requiring Maltese fluency.
- Escort guests to their rooms, introduce the property, and ensure all special requests are communicated and fulfilled.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries by phone, email, or in person.
- Coordinate daily with the Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to ensure rooms and public areas are always in immaculate condition.
- Process payments, handle reservations, and maintain accurate guest records in the PMS.
- Maintain a constant presence at the front desk, ensuring discretion, composure and a polished appearance at all times.
- Be ready to assist other departments when needed (e.g. light housekeeping tasks during busy periods or guest emergencies).
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and guest privacy.
- Contribute proactively to the team dynamic, offering ideas and feedback to enhance guest experience and internal communication.
Profile & Requirements
- Previous experience in luxury hospitality, ideally in a boutique hotel or high-end resort.
- Excellent command of English (both spoken and written); knowledge of Maltese is a plus (spoken and written).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a naturally guest-oriented attitude.
- Polished presentation, attention to detail, and strong organisational abilities.
- Confident handling of reservation systems and standard hotel software (training provided if needed).
- Reliable, flexible, and willing to step in across departments when required.
- A calm and professional demeanour even under pressure, with genuine warmth and empathy.
