
About This Job
The IT Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the company's IT infrastructure, systems, hardware, software, and user accounts. The role provides second-line and advanced IT support to employees, ensures the smooth operation of IT services, and acts as a key point of contact with the company's external IT service providers, including Eyetech and Eyesel.
The IT Administrator is responsible for proactively monitoring IT systems, coordinating the resolution of technical issues, maintaining IT security and documentation, and supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of IT systems across the company.
Main Duties
· Manage and provide technical support for the company's IT systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
· Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues, escalating complex matters to external providers when required.
· Act as a key contact with Eyetech and Eyesel, coordinating service requests and ensuring timely resolution.
· Administer user accounts, email, Microsoft 365, system access, permissions, and security settings.
· Manage the onboarding and offboarding of employees from an IT perspective, including equipment and system access.
· Maintain and monitor company IT equipment, software licences, backups, and system updates.
· Maintain accurate IT asset registers, system records, and technical documentation.
· Support cybersecurity, data protection, antivirus, access control, and other IT security requirements.
· Coordinate IT repairs, warranties, equipment replacements, and supplier-related matters.
· Support the implementation, testing, and maintenance of new IT systems, software, hardware, and upgrades.
· Monitor recurring IT issues and recommend improvements to systems, processes, and user support.
· Provide guidance and technical support to Junior IT Administrators and employees where required.
· Ensure IT procedures and company policies are followed and maintained.
· Carry out any other duties related to the role as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
· A degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Will be considered an asset
· Six months to two years’ experience in a similar role
· Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
· Good understanding of computer hardware, software, networking, and IT infrastructure.
· Experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
· Knowledge of user account administration, access rights, file permissions, and Microsoft 365 administration.
· Understanding of cybersecurity principles, antivirus protection, backups, and data protection.
· Experience dealing with external IT service providers and managing technical support requests is considered an asset.
· Good knowledge of IT asset and software licence management.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
