About This Job

What role you will play within our team?

Review and process demurrage claims in a timely and accurate manner, including Charter Parties, voyage documents, survey reports, and related events within applicable time limits.

Assist in managing demurrage and other claims as well as post-deal expenditures for vessel operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.

Maintain and follow up-to-date Marine Demurrage procedures and work instructions to ensure claims are handled correctly and consistently in line with company requirements.

Support the negotiation and settlement of demurrage claims with commercial counterparts, including tracking claim status, liaising with internal teams, and assisting in legal or formal proceedings when required.

Collaborate with agents, terminals, surveyors, and charterers to clarify events and assist in reviewing Charter Parties, voyage documents, and survey reports.

Monitor outstanding claims and assist in the recovery of receivables.

Collect and organize demurrage data and statistics, providing relevant summaries to management and internal stakeholders as needed.

Support the Operations and Chartering teams with demurrage-related matters and provide timely input to Finance on provisional and outstanding claims.

Maintain accurate records of all payable and receivable claims in the database, tracking actual and potential demurrage claims.

Handle sensitive information carefully, adhering to company policies and compliance standards.

Contribute to process improvements and maintain awareness of company products, services, and policies.

Serve as backup to other team members and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Management, Finance or a related field.

Basic understanding of demurrage concepts, laytime calculations, charter party terms and related documentation.

Good analytical and numerical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to review commercial and shipping documents and identify discrepancies.

Good knowledge of MS Excel and other relevant office tools.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
