Kitchen Host

Job Summary

The kitchen host’s main duties are to provide an excellent catering service to the patients, deliver menus and take orders from patients, communicating to the kitchen team what has been ordered/requested by the patient and serve the patients.

Key roles and responsibilities

· Keeps the patients as comfortable and at home as possible;

· Act as an intermediary between the kitchen and patient;

· Assist in the clearing from the rooms of plates and cups…;

· Keeping all shelves and fridges neat, tidy and organised in store;

· Completes and monitors all records/paperwork (H.A.C.C.P system);

· Present the patients with menu and take orders from patients;

· Clean and wipes all trolleys and working areas used by hosts;

· Ensure food is served at the right temperature.

· Ability to work fast and tidy;

· Strong ability to work on your own and in a team;

· Works to a high standard of personal hygiene and cleanliness at all times;

· Ability to follow instructions, take phones calls and messages ;

· Excellent communication skills;

· Problem solving abilities;

· Always look smart and with a smile on your face;

Ability to Operate the Following Equipment

· Operate food service and meal distribution trolleys.

· Use hot cupboards to maintain food at the required temperature.

· Handle crockery, cutlery, and catering utensils safely and hygienically.

· Process and manage patient menus and meal requests.

· Use telephones and communication systems to liaise with patients, nursing staff, and colleagues.
