Legal Specialist – Build, Shape & Grow an In-House Legal Function

This Legal Specialist opportunity is with a rapidly expanding entity with a strong local & international presence, giving you the opportunity to join at a pivotal stage of its development. The company is strengthening its legal function, creating an opportunity for you to become a key legal professional while helping establish the structure, processes and support required for its next phase of growth. You will gain broad exposure to Group-wide initiatives alongside valuable hands-on experience across a diverse range of corporate and commercial matters.

Reporting directly to the Senior Lawyer as the Group’s first legal hire, you will take on meaningful responsibility from day one. Rather than stepping into an established legal department, you will have the opportunity to help build one, working closely with the Senior Lawyer, internal stakeholders and external advisers. As the function develops, you will have a clear pathway to progress into a more senior legal professional while playing an active role in shaping the Group’s legal framework.

As the Group’s legal function continues to develop, you will contribute to establishing its structure while gaining practical experience across corporate and commercial matters, legal projects, processes and systems. You will also gain exposure to innovative legal technology and AI-enabled solutions, developing capabilities that are becoming increasingly valuable within modern in-house legal teams. The role is designed to provide you with the responsibility, knowledge and experience needed to grow alongside the business and take on greater responsibility as the legal function evolves.

You will:

• Assist the Senior Lawyer across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers on key legal matters
• Take ownership of legal projects and matters through to successful completion
• Play an active role in establishing and developing the Group’s legal function
• Help develop and enhance legal processes, systems and operational frameworks
• Explore and support the adoption of innovative legal technology and AI solutions

Skills / Experience:

• Warranted Lawyer in Malta (Maltese Qualified Lawyer)
• 2+ years of post-qualification experience
• Proven experience in commercial contracts, together with strong practical knowledge of corporate and commercial law.

Salary / Remuneration: €40,000 – €50,000, depending on experience, plus parking and an excellent benefits package.
