Plant Operator

Position Overview  

Responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining plant equipment to ensure safe, efficient and continuous operations.Following standard operating procedures and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate plant systems: Start-up, shut-down and control mechanical and electrical equipment according to procedures.

 - Routine maintenance: Perform basic mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, inspections, cleaning and lubrication.

- Troubleshoot: Identify and help resolve operational faults.

- Safety compliance: Follow health, safety and environmental policies; use PPE and participate in safety briefings and drills.

- Housekeeping: Maintain tidy and organized work areas; ensure tools and equipment are stored correctly.

Skills and Qualifications

- Experience: Entry-level; any prior exposure to industrial plant, manufacturing or utilities operations is advantageous.

- Technical skills: Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, instrumentation and control panels.

- Safety knowledge: Awareness of workplace safety practices and ability to follow safety procedures.

- Communication: Basic proficiency in English and Maltese; able to read manuals and complete written logs.

- Personal attributes: Reliable, punctual, attentive to detail, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
