About This Job

Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing and Inventory Management Clerk to join our dynamic IT team. This role involves managing the procurement process, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the seamless availability of IT equipment and supplies. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT procurement, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to managing resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Purchasing and Procurement:
    Source and procure IT equipment, software licenses, and office supplies in alignment with company needs.
    Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to achieve cost savings.
    Ensure timely delivery of purchased items and resolve any issues with suppliers.
  2. Inventory Management:
    Maintain accurate inventory records for IT hardware, software, and consumables.
    Monitor stock levels and generate reports to prevent shortages or overstocking.
    Implement effective tracking systems for all assets, including tagging and documentation.
  3. Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
    Build and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
    Evaluate supplier performance and recommend improvements or alternative options.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    Prepare and manage purchase orders, invoices, and inventory documentation.
    Generate periodic reports on procurement activities and inventory status for management review.
  5. Collaboration and Support:
    Work closely with IT and finance teams to forecast purchasing needs and budget requirements.
    Provide support for audits and compliance checks related to inventory and procurement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in purchasing and inventory management, preferably within an IT environment.
  • Familiarity with IT hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IT asset management tools.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, CPSM).
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and logistics for IT equipment.
