Role Overview

The Quantity Surveyor will play a critical role in overseeing various aspects of quantity surveying within the Projects Office. This position involves collaborating with a team of professionals to ensure the effective design and implementation of green projects, ensuring that all financial aspects are meticulously managed throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Quantity Take-Off: Reviewing and quantifying all features from drawings to prepare accurate schedules of quantities for procurement purposes.
• Quotation Evaluation: Evaluating quotations from third parties and advising on their validity based on current market prices.
• Site Inspections: Conducting regular inspections and necessary measurements on-site at all phases of the project to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Cost Monitoring: Tracking project costs during implementation and advising the Project Manager of any anticipated overruns.
• Documentation and Certification: Preparing bills of quantities for payment, including extras and variations, while assisting in collecting necessary certifications for bill items.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction sector is essential.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and external stakeholders.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and contractors.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Auto-CAD and familiarity with quantity surveying software and methodologies.
• Organisation: Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently.
• Self-Motivated: Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Problem-Solving: Capacity to identify challenges and provide practical solutions in a timely manner.
