Senior Compliance Officer – International Payments

This opportunity is with a regulated financial services company operating in the payments industry, offering an excellent platform to advance your compliance career within an international and highly regulated setting. As a key member of the compliance function, you will collaborate directly with the Managing Director, Board members and senior management, providing you with valuable exposure to strategic decision-making, corporate governance and regulatory oversight at the highest level of the organisation. You will also liaise with Operations, Risk, the MLRO and both internal and external auditors, gaining valuable insight into the organisation's broader risk management and control structures.

With responsibility spanning multiple aspects of the compliance framework, you will oversee the maintenance of compliance policies and regulatory obligations and carry out independent compliance reviews, empowering you to take ownership of key compliance initiatives and contribute to the ongoing effectiveness of the organisation’s governance framework.   

Through regular interaction with senior stakeholders and regulatory authorities, you will further develop your monitoring, governance and stakeholder management skills, allowing you to continue your professional growth in regulatory compliance.

You will:

• Oversee the ongoing effectiveness of the compliance framework and ensure regulatory obligations are identified, monitored and addressed across the business
• Prepare and implement the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan, perform compliance testing and track remediation measures through to completion
• Investigate and escalate potential compliance issues, assist with engagement with the MFSA and contribute to regulatory submissions and reports for the Board

Skills / Experience:

• + 4 years’ compliance experience within a regulated financial services organisation, preferably within a payment institution
• Eligible to meet MFSA regulatory approval requirements
• Good knowledge of Maltese and EU financial services legislation and regulatory requirements

Salary / Remuneration: €60,000 - €70,000 (Depending on Experience) + Learning and Development opportunities and benefits
