Senior Electrical Engineer

Our Client is a leading provider of engineering and general contracting services. They manage projects from concept to completion, delivering design, construction, and ongoing support to ensure efficient, compliant, and sustainable solutions across pharmaceutical, industrial, and commercial facilities.

Role Overview
In collaboration with Heroix, our Client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to independently execute engineering activities related to electrical and low current systems within EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) projects. The role involves full ownership of technical design, documentation, coordination, and site-related duties to support the successful delivery of complex engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Documentation & Design: Prepare comprehensive technical designs and documentation for electrical and low current system projects.
• Network Sizing: Carry out sizing and configuration of medium- and low-voltage electrical networks.
• Lighting Design: Develop layouts and calculations for both emergency and general lighting systems.
• Technical Drawings & Layouts: Produce system layouts, as well as single-line and multi-line diagrams for power distribution and automation systems.
• Procurement & Reporting: Compile bills of quantities, material take-offs, and technical reports, and prepare requests for quotations from external suppliers.
• Supplier Evaluation: Conduct technical and economic assessments of supplier bids to support procurement decisions.
• Site Activities: Perform field inspections, surveys, and verification checks to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Team Coordination: Coordinate with other electrical specialists, drafters, and external suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: Industrial Technical Expert in Electrical Engineering or a degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: Previous experience within technical design offices or engineering firms, ideally with exposure to industrial or pharmaceutical environments.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Italian would be an asset.
• Driving License: A valid driving license category B is required.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities, including the capacity to interact effectively with suppliers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Interpersonal Skills: Able to build strong working relationships and collaborate confidently with clients and internal teams.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electrical systems, EPCM activities, electrical construction technologies, GEP, and Maltese regulations related to electrical and low current systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is required; knowledge of Autodesk Revit is considered an asset.
• Organisation: Capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritising workloads, and maintaining accuracy in all documentation.
• Self-Motivated: Able to work independently under minimal supervision, with a proactive approach to tasks and problem-solving.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrates analytical thinking and the ability to identify practical solutions to engineering challenges.
