Role Overview

Heroix is collaborating with our Client to recruit a Senior Project Manager who will direct the on-site delivery of substantial finishing projects and provide leadership to supervisors and operational teams. The successful candidate will coordinate people, materials and project activities while maintaining strong standards across workmanship, safety, efficiency and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Leadership: Direct Site Supervisors and operational teams working across several major construction projects, providing clear priorities and guidance.

• Project Delivery: Oversee on-site works from initial set-up through completion, defect resolution and final handover.

• Workmanship Standards: Verify that all activities meet the approved plans, technical requirements, project schedules and internal quality expectations.

• Resource Coordination: Organise labour, materials, equipment and daily activities to support efficient delivery across each assigned location.

• Performance Monitoring: Track output, build quality, health and safety practices, and progress against agreed project milestones.

• Risk Management: Anticipate factors that may affect delivery, investigate site-related concerns and introduce practical recovery measures where necessary.

• Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain effective coordination with customers, principal contractors, professional consultants, subcontractors and other parties involved in the works.

• Activity Planning: Arrange finishing trades in the correct order, ensuring that dependencies are managed and disruption between workstreams is minimised.

• Team Development: Coach supervisors and site personnel, strengthening their capabilities, accountability and overall performance.

• Reporting and Escalation: Provide timely updates on progress, risks and operational requirements, raising significant matters with senior management when appropriate.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Education: A qualification in construction, engineering, project management, business or another relevant discipline would be beneficial.

• Experience: Demonstrable senior-level experience overseeing construction sites or projects is required, including responsibility for several locations and teams. Previous involvement with a specialist finishing contractor or major interior works would be highly valued.

• Language Skills: An excellent command of English and Maltese is required to succeed in this role.

• Driving Licence: A valid EU driving licence is mandatory.

• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written abilities, with the confidence to issue clear instructions, present updates and discuss project matters with different stakeholders.

• Interpersonal Skills: The ability to establish constructive working relationships and encourage cooperation among clients, contractors, consultants and site personnel.

• Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of construction scheduling, finishing activities, site processes, technical drawings and project specifications.

• Leadership: A confident management style supported by good judgement, accountability and the ability to guide supervisors and operational teams.

• Organisation: Strong planning and coordination capabilities, with the capacity to balance labour, resources, priorities and deadlines across simultaneous assignments.

• Self-Motivated: A practical and achievement-oriented approach, with the willingness to remain closely involved in day-to-day site delivery.

• Problem-Solving: The ability to assess demanding operational situations, make timely decisions and implement workable solutions under pressure.
