Role Overview

In collaboration with Heroix, our Client is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst in the finance sector. The role involves conducting risk analyses, developing risk models, maintaining risk management tools, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position requires collaboration with various departments to achieve the company's risk management objectives and contribute to the development and implementation of risk management projects.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Analysis:

• Perform analyses across various risk areas and support the Risk Department's analytical tasks.

Model Development:

• Contribute to creating, implementing, and updating risk and econometric models, including credit scoring and customer risk rating.

Risk Management:

• Maintain and enhance models for liquidity, credit, and market risk, preparing analyses based on simulations and stress testing.

Policy and Procedure Drafting:

• Draft and review internal policies, procedures, and working instructions to ensure alignment with internal processes and updated regulations.

Regulatory Reporting:

• Assist in compiling and timely submission of internal and regulatory reports, participating in ICAAP, ILAAP, and Recovery Plan processes.

Project Implementation:

• Support the implementation of risk management projects and achieve objectives outlined in periodic Risk Plans.

Regulatory Familiarity:

• Stay updated with relevant regulations and standards such as CRR, CRD, EBA guidelines, IFRS 9, and MFSA rules.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Educational Background:

• Hold a strong quantitative degree in Financial Services, Statistics, or an equivalent field.

Technical Proficiency:

• Exhibit advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Analytical Skills:

• Possess strong analytical capabilities with attention to detail and accuracy in handling large amounts of data.

Self-Motivation:

• Be self-driven with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

Multitasking Ability:

• Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Meticulousness:

• Be detail-oriented in your work approach.

Statistical Knowledge:

• Understanding and experience with R-code and statistical packages are considered assets.

Language Proficiency:

• Be proficient in both Maltese and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
