About This Job
Role:
As a Shift Leader, you'll play a key role in managing day-to-day operations within our warehouse. Reporting directly to the Warehouse & Distribution Manager, you'll ensure that orders are picked, packed, and dispatched with precision, while leading a team to meet customer expectations efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate daily picking and dispatch operations
- Supervise unloading, inspection, and stock accuracy for inbound goods and returns
- Oversee picking and checking processes to ensure order accuracy
- Ensure your shift runs smoothly and meets customer demand
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock counts, and reconcile with systems
- Implement and uphold best warehousing practices and safety policies
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
- Ensure all manual handling procedures are followed
- Act as a key point of contact during shift operations
Requirements
- Experience in a warehouse or logistics supervisory role
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Solid knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Excellent communication and team-building ability
- Good computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office
- Proactive, organised, and able to work on your own initiative
- Previous experience in the food distribution industry is a plus
