About This Job
A vacancy for the post of Shop Assistant has arisen within our retail establishment - Farsons Direct. Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will provide assistance and excellent customer service to the customers that visit Farsons Direct while ensuring that the shop is maintained up to the established standards at all times.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- The upkeep of the shop including maintaining clean displays, unpacking, re-shelving and storing of stock as well as coordination of received deliveries;
- Operating the till and accurately handling cash, cheques and credit/debit card transactions;
- Responding to orders received through the online shop by processing sales and packaging orders;
- Assisting with regular and annual stock checks.
The selected candidate shall:
- Have proven working experience as a retail cashier or in sales; candidates with beverage experience in the hospitality industry are also encouraged to apply.
- Have basic PC knowledge and familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g. cash register, scanners, money counters etc);
- Have strong communication and time management skills;
- Be customer satisfaction-oriented;
- Have attention to detail and mathematical skills.
Beer and wine knowledge will be considered favourably.
