Technician Vacancy – Audio Visual Specialization

We are currently looking for a Technician specialised in Audio Visual (AV) systems to join our Maintenance team.

Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, the ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and specialisation in Audio Visual (AV) systems, which will be the primary focus of this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the hotel’s AV equipment and systems, while also supporting the Maintenance Department in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the hotel’s technical services and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take primary responsibility for the hotel's Audio Visual systems and equipment, including sound systems, microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, displays, TVs, video conferencing equipment, and related AV technology.

• Set up, test, operate, and dismantle AV equipment for meetings, conferences, banquets, events, and other hotel functions.

• Provide technical AV support before and during events, ensuring equipment is functioning correctly and responding promptly to any technical issues.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and carry out preventive maintenance on AV equipment and systems.

• Coordinate with the Events, Banqueting, and other operational departments to understand AV requirements and ensure successful delivery of functions and events.

• Maintain AV equipment inventories and ensure equipment is properly stored, maintained, and available when required.

• Assist with inspections and preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, kitchen, and laundry equipment as required.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety requirements, including fire safety procedures and systems.

• Support the hotel's energy-efficiency and sustainability initiatives.

• Liaise and collaborate with external AV suppliers, technicians, and other contractors when required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience and strong technical knowledge in Audio Visual (AV) systems is essential.

• Experience with the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of professional AV equipment, particularly within hotels, conferences, events, or hospitality environments.

• Good understanding of sound systems, microphones, projectors, displays, video conferencing systems, and related AV equipment.

• Previous experience as a Technician in a hotel or similar hospitality environment would be considered an asset.

• Knowledge of general building services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a proactive attitude.

• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, particularly according to the hotel's events and operational requirements.
