The Business provides logistics services connecting Malta with international markets, supporting organisations across various industries while maintaining a strong focus on dependable operations and high service standards.

Role Overview
The Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting customer goods safely and efficiently while ensuring that each consignment is handled in line with the relevant delivery requirements. The position also involves supporting cargo handling activities, completing transport documentation, maintaining appropriate storage conditions where required, and providing a professional service to customers throughout daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport & Deliveries: Carry out scheduled collections and deliveries using a rigid truck, taking appropriate care of all goods entrusted to the Company throughout transportation.
• Cargo Protection: Check that goods are correctly positioned and restrained before departure, taking the necessary precautions to minimise the risk of loss, movement or damage while in transit.
• Controlled Conditions: Handle consignments requiring specific environmental or temperature parameters in accordance with the applicable transport requirements and internal processes.
• Loading & Unloading: Support the movement of goods onto and off vehicles when required, including the manual lifting, carrying, pushing or positioning of individual items.
• Consignment Checks: Verify quantities and shipment details during collection, loading and delivery activities, identifying and recording any visible discrepancies or damaged goods.
• Delivery Documentation: Complete the relevant paperwork accurately, secure customer acknowledgement where necessary and maintain appropriate records relating to transported consignments.
• Forklift Operations: Operate forklift equipment when required and authorised, assisting with warehouse and vehicle-loading activities while maintaining safe working practices.
• Procedures & Compliance: Apply Company operating processes, internal guidance and relevant instructions, including GDP and Importer’s Licence quality procedures where these apply to the assignment and appropriate training has been completed.
• Health & Safety: Follow workplace safety requirements at all times and participate in mandatory training or other safety-related initiatives organised by the Business.
• Customer Service & Teamwork: Represent the Company professionally when interacting with customers and work closely with colleagues to ensure daily transport activities are completed efficiently and to the expected service level.
• Operational Support: Assist with other appropriate tasks connected to transport, cargo handling and logistics operations according to business requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Driving Licence: A valid and clean Category C1 driving licence is required for this position.
• Forklift Certification: Applicants must hold a valid forklift licence and be capable of operating the equipment responsibly and safely.
• Police Conduct: Candidates must be able to provide a clean police conduct certificate.
• Experience: Previous professional experience driving trucks is required, ideally within transport, distribution, freight or logistics operations.
• Language Skills: Good spoken and written English and Maltese are required to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and other parties involved in daily operations.
• Communication Skills: Able to understand instructions clearly, exchange information accurately and communicate professionally when dealing with customers and colleagues.
• Interpersonal Skills: A cooperative and service-focused approach, with the ability to contribute positively within an operational team environment.
• Technical Skills: Comfortable handling different types of cargo, completing delivery-related records and following specialised handling requirements, including temperature-controlled procedures where applicable.
• Organisation: Able to manage assigned deliveries, documentation and cargo checks carefully while maintaining attention to schedules and operational priorities.
• Self-Motivated: Dependable and proactive, with a responsible attitude towards vehicles, customer goods and assigned duties.
• Problem-Solving: Able to respond sensibly to operational issues, cargo discrepancies or delivery-related challenges and escalate matters appropriately when necessary.
• Flexibility: Willing and able to work according to operational schedules, which may include shift-based duties, evenings and weekends when required.
