A unique opportunity has opened up to join AIS Environment, as our new Waste Management Officer.

This entry-level role is ideal for someone passionate about sustainability and operational work. AIS Environment has an extensive track record in the local waste management scheme, pioneering post-consumer waste recovery in Malta.

Your Role:

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of our waste management operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and environmental responsibility. Your key duties will include:

  • Coordinate and manage waste collections across multiple waste streams, monitoring performance and analysing data to ensure efficient operations.
  • Conduct inspections and liaise with third-party operators to ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and system requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and service providers.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations, complete required reporting, and maintain all necessary procedures, work instructions, and waste transfer documentation.
  • Manage, review, and maintain waste management databases and operational systems.
  • Collaborate with team members, support management in achieving company objectives, and perform other day-to-day operational duties as required

Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience; a background in environmental services is considered an asset.
  • Very good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English.
  • Good at multitasking and time management.
  • A team player who is proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  •  A valid driving license.
