About This Job

HireHound Recruitment is looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join our client's as an Assistant Project Manager. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the selected candidate will be forming part of the M&E Projects and will be responsible for running the whole or part of a site/project managing a team of electrical and mechanical installers, ensuring a timely and efficient execution and completion/handing over of the assigned projects to reach Company objectives within budget and in a profitable manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning resources ahead of the required works and ensuring that all the shop drawings, material, tools and equipment required to execute is readily available;
  • Liaise with all departments required to complete the project/s;
  • Attend weekly meetings with clients and keeping abreast with clients’ exigencies;
  • Working with BOQs and within the given POW and labour budget;
  • Ensure all employees are working on the latest drawings;
  • Supervise work carried out by subordinates on an ongoing basis to ensure that time and quality standards are met and maintained;
  • Finalise projects within the stipulated deadline and budget whilst keeping the quality up to standard;
  • Mark-up of as-fitted drawings and BOQ if and when required;
  • Ensure that labour and material wastage are kept to a minimum;
  • Follow strict H&S rules and regulations and ensure that it is followed by all the team;
  • Placing of internal orders for consumables related to the projects being assigned;
  • Carry out weekly GRNs and timesheets;

Requirements:

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in the M&E Industry, specifically in Industrial and Commercial Electrical and Mechanical installations;
  • Experienced in leading a team of tradesmen and the execution of industrial electrical and mechanical installations on projects;
  • Capable of working in teamwork with other officers and engineers, liaising with subcontractors and Clients as required;
  • Be well organised, have good managerial skills on site and proficient in maintaining a good filing system;
  • Capable of working on own initiative and in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
  • Have a good knowledge of Autocad and must be able to read Drawings and Electrical Schematics;
  • Be capable of using MS Word/Excel/Projects and the MS Office package;
  • Be a problem solver and have a good eye for detail;
  • Have good (both written and verbal) communication skills in Maltese and English;
  • Have a strong commitment to quality, customer satisfaction and workplace safety
