About This Job

The Childcarer is responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality care and supervision to children within the childcare centre. The role ensures a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and social well-being of all children, while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate respect, understanding, and dignity towards children, parents/guardians, and colleagues at all times.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality childcare services.
  • Carry out duties delegated by the Childcare Manager with diligence, responsibility, and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to children, families, and organisational matters.
  • Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate social and developmental activities under supervision.
  • Promote the well-being, inclusion, and holistic development of children in care.
  • Respect and support the cultural, spiritual, and religious beliefs of children and their families.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve the quality of service and care provision.
  • Report to the Childcare Manager (or delegated person) upon arrival and prior to leaving the centre when required.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability in attendance and duties.
  • Professional Conduct & Presentation
  • Maintain a professional attitude and behaviour that reflects the organisation’s values and mission.
  • Present a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times while on duty.
  • Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and childcare regulations applicable in Malta.

Requirements:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Early Years Education or currently studying
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Food Handling Category B
  • Previous experience is preferred
