Childcarer - Manager

About the Role
The Manager will ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and fostering staff development.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the childcare centre, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment.
• Recruit, train, and manage staff, promoting professional growth, teamwork, and high-quality care.
• Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development sessions.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula and activities that support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
• Ensure programs meet developmental needs and comply with regulatory standards.
• Maintain compliance with all Maltese legal regulations regarding childcare.
• Conduct regular health and safety inspections, drills, and ensure a safe environment for children.
• Build strong relationships with parents and families through open communication and engagement initiatives.
• Organize parent meetings, community events, and collaborative activities to strengthen family involvement.
• Manage the centre’s budget, including enrollment, tuition collection, and operational expenses.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and education, implementing improvements as needed.
• Prepare for inspections, audits, and accreditation processes, ensuring ongoing compliance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all centre-related matters.

Requirements

• MQF Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Management.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in childcare or educational settings, including at least 3 years in a management role.
• Certification in Paediatric First Aid and Food Handling.
