Overview  

Join a busy kitchen team preparing authentic Chinese and Filipino cuisine. Deliver high-quality dishes consistently, maintain kitchen hygiene, and support senior chefs in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare ingredients, follow recipes and portion controls, cook and plate dishes to standard for Chinese and Filipino menus.

- Station Management: Operate assigned station(s) during service, manage mise en place, and ensure smooth handover between shifts.

- Support Senior Chefs: Assist sous/Head Chefs with menu execution, recipe testing, and development of specials.

- Quality Control: Maintain consistent taste, presentation, and portion sizes; monitor food freshness and stock rotation.

- Hygiene & Safety: Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures; keep work areas, equipment, and utensils clean.

- Inventory & Stock: Receive, inspect, and store deliveries; assist with stock checks and minimize food waste.

- Teamwork & Communication: Collaborate with front-of-house and kitchen staff, follow instructions, and contribute to a positive working environment.

- Ad hoc Duties: Perform opening/closing duties, kitchen setup, and equipment maintenance as required.

Skills & Qualifications

- Experience: Prior experience as a commis chef or similar role, ideally with exposure to Chinese and Filipino cuisine.

- Culinary Skills: Strong basic cooking techniques, knife skills, knowledge of Asian ingredients and cooking methods.

- Qualifications: Culinary certification or relevant vocational training preferred but not mandatory with proven experience.

- Language: Professional working proficiency in English for clear communication in a multicultural team.

- Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, onsite kitchen environment.

- Physical Requirements: Able to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

- Attitude: Eagerness to learn, receptive to feedback, and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
