Hilton Malta is seeking to recruit an experienced Conference & Events Operations Manager (Banqueting Manager) to join one of Malta's leading hospitality destinations, delivering conferences, gala dinners, weddings, incentive events and international meetings for some of the world's most recognised brands.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Food & Drink Manager, you will oversee one of the islands largest Conference & Events Operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong commercial results, and a high‑performing team environment. You will play a key leadership role within the F&D department.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Performance
- Deliver business targets across revenue, profit, customer satisfaction
- Deliver agreed revenue, profitability, productivity and guest satisfaction targets while identifying opportunities to maximise event revenues, operational efficiencies and team engagement
- Partner with Commercial teams to create competitive proposals, pricing and event concepts
- Manage budgets and forecasts aligned with hotel goals
- Review departmental KPIs and drive continuous improvement
Exceptional Food & Drink Delivery
- Collaborate with Culinary teams on menus, concepts and promotions
- Ensure high‑quality, well‑presented food and drink delivery
- Champion Hilton sustainability goals through local sourcing, seasonal produce and reduced food waste
Exceptional Guest Experiences
- Lead the team to deliver personalised, knowledgeable and memorable service
- Ensure all events are set up, executed and closed down to client specifications
- Build strong client relationships and recognise repeat customers
- Act promptly on feedback and resolve issues to strengthen loyalty
Great Working Environment
- Lead, develop and inspire the C&E Operations team
- Oversee recruitment, training, succession planning and recognition
- Build an efficient workforce plan aligned with business volumes and HR guidelines
- Manage flexible staffing solutions when required
Operational Excellence
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, hygiene and food safety regulations
- Work with Procurement on supplier selection and purchasing processes
- Maintain efficient service flows and layouts to optimise cycle times
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activity to keep Hilton Malta market‑leading
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar C&E operations leadership role; high‑volume experience is an advantage
- Proven ability to lead large operational teams while balancing exceptional guest experiences with commercial performance Inspirational leadership and people management skills
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Excellent communication & organisational skills across presentations, briefings and negotiations
- Strong customer focus and commitment to quality
- Effective stakeholder management with suppliers, authorities and clients
- Creativity, strategic thinking and problem‑solving ability
- Fluency in English and confidence using F&D systems and MS Office
