JOB PURPOSE
Support the Head of Operations in implementing and monitoring Environmental, Health & Safety standards across the site, ensuring safe, compliant, and well-managed operations for employees, contractors, and visitors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinate day-to-day EHS activities and act as site contact for EHS matters.
2. Assist with compliance with health and safety, environmental, fire safety, first aid, and security legislation, including liaison with authorities and consultants.
3. Perform site inspections, audits, basic risk assessments, and follow up on actions.
4. Monitor fire safety systems, emergency arrangements, PPE, and first aid readiness.
5. Support planning and coordination of emergency drills and response exercises.
6. Oversee waste segregation, storage, disposal, recycling, and related documentation.
7. Coordinate disposal of obsolete equipment and other waste in line with procedures.
8. Support environmental data collection, spill reporting, and basic environmental checks.
9. Promote good housekeeping standards and coordinate external grounds maintenance.
10. Coordinate fleet licences, insurance, inspections, driver authorisations, and accident reporting.
11. Coordinate statutory inspections and certifications for key equipment and systems.
12. Support contractor safety (inductions, permits to work, compliance with site rules).
13. Assist in the administration of CCTV and provide support during incident investigations.
14. Record and report incidents, near misses, environmental and security issues, maintaining accurate EHS records.
15. Assist in organising and delivering EHS-related training and awareness sessions.
16. Contribute ideas and feedback to improve EHS, fire safety, security, and housekeeping.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
1. Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or studying towards one.
2. 1–2 years’ experience in a health and safety support role (ideally manufacturing/industrial).
3. Basic knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation.
4. Strong organisational, reporting, and communication skills.
5. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Ability to follow procedures and escalate issues appropriately.
