We are a growing and fast-paced food retail group seeking a capable and driven IT professional to support and strengthen our technology function. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, technically involved, and part of a business that is continuously evolving.
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running, security, and reliability of IT systems across the group, while also contributing to the development, improvement, and structure of the IT function as we continue to grow.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
- Administering and maintaining Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and domain infrastructure.
- Managing network infrastructure across multiple sites (routers, switches, firewalls, VPN connections).
- Overseeing user account management, permissions, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Administering and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, licensing, and security settings).
- Supporting and maintaining our POS systems, network-connected hardware, and site infrastructure.
- Learning and administering our custom in-house software (full training and handover provided).
- Managing backups, UPS systems, and business continuity measures across sites.
- Working on infrastructure projects (e.g., server upgrades, network security improvements, system rollouts).
- Assisting with and contributing to broader IT initiatives across the business as needed.
- Escalation point for complex issues raised by First Line Support.
- Liaising with external vendors and service providers as needed.
- Documenting systems, configurations, procedures, and processes for internal reference.
🎯 Candidate Profile
- Solid experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs).
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, licensing, and security settings).
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining multi-site IT infrastructure.
- Valid driving license required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Comfortable learning and eventually managing custom/proprietary software specific to our business (full training provided - no prior experience required).
- Retail or multi-site business experience is an advantage, but not essential.
