
Junior Professional Officer (Various)
About This Job
The Junior Professional Officers (Various Units) will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of operations service duties which fall under the remit of the Social Care Standards Authority (hereunder referred as ‘SCSA’ or ‘the Authority’).
Principal Responsibilities
The Junior Professional Officers shall assist within the Directorates of the Authority ensuring that the SCSA operates with bot practice and intent within the regulatory framework applicable to the Authority, and that all pertinent laws and regulations are followed.
Essential Functions for the posts required:
i. Implements work practices that would entail the efficient and effective performance of duties in the various Units of the Authority.
ii. Assists and advises with regard to the upkeep and maintenance of moveable and immoveable assets.
iii. Responsible for the Inventory of the Unit.
iv. Keeps updated records and files related to duties in line with regulations.
v. Prepares policies and S.O.P’s in relation to duties.
vi. Coordinate the upkeep of information in line with duties.
vii. Draws up reports and highlights attention to any short comings or other issued.
viii. Prepares and complies various publications and guidelines.
ix. Responsible for the performance data and/or statistics related to duties.
x. Carries out file movements and keep tract on system of files.
xi. Responsible for archiving and bring ups of files at the Authority.
xii. Manages the staff transportation logs and requests for transport as required.
xiii. Coordinates, maintains records, follows-up and performs ancillary duties efficiently.
xiv. Prepares and keeps track of consumable requests of the Unit and prepare requisition orders for other items required by the Unit.
xv. Keeps abreast of any new developments in the policies and/or manuals in relation to Unit.
xvi. Be efficient in order to meet deadlines set and have initiative to deliver what is expected in a prompt manner.
xvii. Prepare, report and deliver presentations to the Head / Director as may be required and
xviii. Perform any other duties according to the exigencies of the Authority as directed by the Chief Executive Officer or her representative.

Ø Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

(i) Citizens of Malta. and
(ii) Able to communicate proficiently both verbally and written in the Maltese and English languages.

(iii)
a. In possession of a recognised qualification MQF Level 4 (subject to a minimum of 120 ECTS/ECVET credits, or equivalent*) in Management or Logistics or Business Administration or Public Management or Leadership or Strategy or in relevant areas as determined by Management.
OR
b. In possession of a recognised Diploma at MQF Level 5 (subject to a minimum of 60 ECTS/ECVET credits, or equivalent*) in Management or Logistics or Business Administration or Public Management or Leadership or Strategy or in relevant areas as determined by Management.
OR
c. In possession of two (2) subjects at Advanced level and three (3) subjects at Intermediate
Matriculation Level (which must include two (2) of the following subjects: Mathematics, English, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Physics, Information Technology, Computing or Business Studies) or a recognised pertinent comparable qualification.
OR
d. In possession of three (3) subjects at Advanced level (which must include one (1) of the following subjects: Mathematics, English, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Physics, Information Technology, computing or Business Studies).
*A recognised qualification comparable to 120/60 ECTS/ECVET credits, as applicable, is only accepted subject to an MQRIC formal recognition statement being submitted with the application.
Selection Procedure
Eligible applicants will be assessed by a Selection Board to determine their suitability for the post.
The maximum mark for this selection process is 100% and the pass mark is 50%.
Salary and Benefits
The basic annual salary for this position in 2026 is €27,191.00, with an annual increase and annual increment to be determined by the Collective Agreement..
