About the Role:
The Live–In Carer is responsible for providing compassionate, professional, and person-centred care to clients within their own homes. This role involves supporting clients with their daily living needs, promoting independence, and ensuring their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing while maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, and prescribed exercise routines.
- Administer or prompt medication in line with care plans and company policies.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring clients maintain a balanced diet.
- Carry out light household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing.
- Monitor clients’ health, wellbeing, and behaviour, promptly reporting concerns to the Operations Executive (Care).
- Maintain accurate daily care records and update care plans as required.
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and confidentiality policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to deliver high-quality care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in care, healthcare, or support roles (live-in care experience preferred).
- Relevant training or qualifications in health and social care (e.g., MQF Level 3 or equivalent) desirable.
- Ability to provide personal care with dignity, respect, and sensitivity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of reliability, responsibility, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently while living within a client’s household.
- Physical ability to assist with mobility and personal care tasks.
- Flexibility to work long shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Clean police conduct certificate and the right to work in Malta.
