About This Job

Our client, a well-established provider of business and commercial services in Malta, is seeking to recruit a Manager - Financial Advisory Services.

The Financial Advisory Services (FAS) team provides a broad range of advisory services to clients and the TAS Manager must be capable of handling assignments which would interface with client management, financiers, auditors and other professionals; know when to seek advice from other specialists, colleagues and Partners and demonstrate analytical skills and judgment, as well as leadership to junior staff by delegating, reviewing, mentoring and coaching staff members. The individual is therefore responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring client satisfaction, and contributing to the growth and development of the advisory team.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of various industries as well as assessing which key performance indicators would apply to each industry and applying them to understand and analyse the client’s needs.

  • Leads the team in various corporate finance assignments, including company valuations, IFRS reporting, feasibilities and financial due diligences.

  • Modelling a comprehensive set of projections which include an income statement, statement of financial position and cash flow statement.

  • Provides on the job training, coaching and ongoing feedback to juniors.

  • Demonstrates expertise in the application of IFRS, particularly new standards and is seen by peers and subordinates as a reference point for advice on technical areas.

  • Demonstrates and understands technical issues arising in an assignment, offering potential solutions, and seeking advice when appropriate.

  • Resolves and identifies risk management issues and applies knowledge to manage such issues.

  • Mitigates risk through review and involvement of senior people within the firm.

  • Undertakes from start to finish, including issuing of letters of engagement, performing know-your-client procedures, compiling a financial model and drafting reports, issuing bills, and chasing of debtors.

  • Managing more than one project at a time, and ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and within budget

  • Mentor, manage, and evaluate team members' performance, including the setting of timelines, and key performance indicators

  • Develop and implement departmental strategies.

Requirements:

  • ACCA qualified or a Degree in Accountancy.

  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in a similar role, with managerial experience and deep technical knowledge in a specific area.

  • Previous experience in Transaction Advisory, ideally within Corporate Finance.

  • Demonstrates leadership within the team.

  • Managerial experience, including effective task delegation to junior accountants and review of work to ensure quality control.

  • Experience in client-facing work.

  • Exceptional client relationship management abilities.

  • Experience in developing and mentoring junior staff.

  • Be strong in research, analysis, and interpretation.

  • Experience of using analytical skills and applying them in commercial judgement.

  • Developing ability to build and maintain a network of industry contacts.

  • Extensive experience in drafting and reviewing reports and financial statements.

  • Be capable of writing high-quality, professionally presented reports, requiring minimal input from superiors.

  • Review executives’ output, ensuring key issues are communicated effectively.

  • Ensure all files are closed down on completed projects in accordance with our client's policy, including approval sign-off.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organisational skills, analytical skills, time management and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel, including the use of shortcuts and formulas.
