Overview 

Provide attentive, professional newborn care within a private household, supporting infant feeding, sleep routines, development, and parental education while maintaining a safe, organized nursery environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Primary newborn care: Attend to feeding (breastmilk bottle feeding, formula as required), diapering, soothing, burping, and safe sleep practices for newborns.

- Sleep and routine management: Establish and maintain age-appropriate sleep schedules and sleep training techniques in line with parental preferences and pediatric guidance.

- Health monitoring: Observe and report any changes in infant health, behavior, feeding or elimination patterns; administer basic care per parental instructions and pediatrician guidance.

- Developmental support: Provide age-appropriate sensory stimulation, tummy time, and early developmental activities; track milestones and communicate progress.

- Nursery management: Maintain a clean, hygienic nursery; manage laundry and sterilization of bottles, feeding equipment, and baby items; organize supplies and keep inventory.

- Household coordination: Coordinate with parents regarding schedules, appointments (e.g., pediatric visits), and childcare needs; document feedings, sleep, and diapering in a daily log.

- Parental support and education: Offer guidance on newborn care best practices, feeding techniques, and routine establishment, respecting parental choices and cultural preferences.

- Safety and emergency response: Maintain up-to-date infant first aid/CPR skills; act promptly in emergencies and follow family protocols.

Skills and Qualifications

- Experience: Proven professional experience as a newborn nanny, maternity nurse, or equivalent in private-home newborn care; executive-level professionalism and discretion.

- Language: Full professional proficiency in English; clear communication with parents and healthcare providers.

- Certifications: Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification required; neonatal/maternity nursing certification or equivalent preferred.

- Knowledge: Strong understanding of newborn feeding, sleep physiology, soothing techniques, and early developmental milestones.

- Attributes: Patient, reliable, calm under pressure, highly observant, and respectful of family privacy and routines.

- Practical skills: Competent in safe bottle preparation, sterilization, basic infant bathing, and simple household/linen care related to the infant.

- Availability: Ability to work full-time onsite with flexible hours to meet newborn care needs; readiness to comply with household rules and health/safety requirements.

- References: Excellent professional references from families or employers familiar with newborn care.
