- Manage and take ownership of a portfolio of local and international clients across various industries.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on all accounting-related matters.
- Prepare and review management accounts, annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and review VAT returns, VAT Recapitulative Statements, Income Tax computations and other statutory filings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable deadlines and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, banks, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
- Review the work of junior accountants and provide coaching, mentoring and technical guidance.
- Support the professional development of junior team members through training and knowledge sharing. Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and enhance service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional client service.
- Work independently, prioritise workload effectively and consistently meet deadlines.
- Support senior management on technical accounting matters and contribute to the continued growth of the accounting function.
Requirements:
- A Maltese Warrant in Accountancy.
- A minimum of five (5) years' relevant accounting experience.
- Previous experience working within a Corporate Service Provider (CSP) environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of Maltese VAT and Income Tax legislation.
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients independently.
- Experience supervising, coaching and mentoring junior team members.
- The ability to work on their own initiative, take ownership of responsibilities and drive work to completion. Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Xero, together with Microsoft Office applications.
