Senior Quantity Surveyor
Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Reports to: Head of QS FMS / QS Manager / FMS CEO or their named delegate/s
Main objectives of the position
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be mainly working on the large projects they shall be accountable to the QS Manager and assist the QS manager in any other necessary duties.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Provides all necessary assistance to the Project Team in the procurement of works, goods or services.
- Assist in claim disputes and provides change request analysis, delay impact analysis and claims evaluation;
- Preparation of tender/contract documents, including Bills of Quantities, Cost Estimates and Rate Build-Ups, as required.
- Preparation and verification of Interim and final payment certificates.
- Construct unit cost rate build up as necessary to arrive at a BOQ star rate
- In conjunction with the Client Representative, the QS Manager is to actively monitor the
- Contractor’s work packages and their timely execution and to ensure the meeting of dates on the different programme of works and the attainment of milestones.
- To liaise with all the Client Representatives as deemed necessary.
- To participate in Quality Control meetings with consultants and contractors.
- Effectively applies corporate methodology and enforces corporate project standards.
- To manage the expenditure of the commercial budget with the support of the technical team and the Financial Controller.
- To assist in the preparation of quality assurance procedures and facilities quality reviews.
- To minimize corporate financial exposure and risk on project.
- To assist in dispute/resolution/Settlement of contractor’s claims with the support of the relevant technical stream within the FMS and legal advisor.
- To deal with correspondence and other matters of New Projects if necessary
- To assist: In technical and contractual matters and in the evaluation thereof. In the compilation of feasibility studies as deemed required bearing in mind the magnitude of the projects
- In the coordination of teamwork and project management tasks
- Any other duties may be assigned by the Employer/HOD QS/QS Manager.
Eligibility Requirements

Criteria for the Senior Quantity Surveyor
- A BTEC National Diploma in Quantity Surveying at MQF Level 4 or a relevant and equivalent qualification and at least 4 years’ professional experience.
- Well referenced experience within a well-established service provider at pre and contract stages and focused on the construction and finishing trades, as well as related to mechanical and electrical engineering services and to projects of substantial complexity will be considered as an asset.
Type of Contract and Salary Range:
Contract Type: Indefinite contract with 12 months probationary period
Salary: An attractive salary package including allowances is being offered with this position
