Our client, that operates within the public sector, is currently looking to recruit a Senor Systems Engineer to join their team.

- Maintain and manage IT infrastructure, including network (LAN/WAN), storage, backup systems, and Active Directory administration.
- Oversee and implement network optimization solutions and troubleshoot IP network issues.
- Ensure system security through firewalls, intrusion detection, antivirus, and content filtering.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement disaster recovery measures.
- Develop contingency plans to manage organizational emergencies.
- Lead the Network & Security Team, ensuring compliance with ISO 27001:2022 and industry standards.
- Manage and coordinate IT projects, collaborating with third-party suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
- Administer Microsoft 365 email systems, SQL databases, and office applications.
- Maintain security communications equipment, including CCTV, access control, and PABX systems.
- Support IT procurement through the Malta Government eTenders system.
- Conduct vulnerability testing, security audits, and IT risk assessments.
- Develop and maintain the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
- Ensure SLA compliance with ICT suppliers and software vendors.
- Provide technical support for court-related IT matters when required.
Requirements:
- Education:
- MQF Level 6 in Computer Science + 4 years of relevant experience, OR
- MQF Level 5 in Computer Science + 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in IT infrastructure management, including networking, storage, backup, and Windows system administration.
- Expertise in firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection, and web filtering.
- Knowledge of risk assessment tools, disaster recovery, and forensic technologies.
- Familiarity with industry certifications such as CCNA and MCSA (considered an asset).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in Maltese and English.
