Our client is looking for a Senior Tax Executive to join our tax team on a full-time/reduced-hour basis, reporting to management within the same division. The candidate will assist with tax compliance work and support with advice offered to a growing number of both local and international clients.

- Prepare and review corporate and personal income tax returns and related computations, review other tax forms & schedules prepared by junior associates;
- Review of VAT Returns and VAT Assessments and support the team with researching and drafting opinions on technical VAT queries;
- Oversee and support junior associates on tax and VAT compliance matters;
- Liaise with the Local Authorities regarding routine compliance and tax matters;
- Assist with the provision of advice and the drafting of technical opinions on Maltese and International tax matters;
- Address technical tax matters and prepare complex tax computations, including the application of the Notional Interest Deduction Rules and Consolidated (Income Tax) Rules;
- Build and maintain strong client relationships whilst providing quality service to clients;
- Assist clients in meeting ongoing tax compliance obligations on time;
- Keep abreast of local and international tax developments and evaluate their implications for clients;
- Contribute to the development of departmental knowledge resources.
- Qualified or near-qualified Accountant (University of Malta or ACCA)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- 3 - 4 years of experience within a tax environment
- Strong knowledge of Maltese tax legislation
- Experience reviewing tax computations and returns
- Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely completion
- Pro-active and organised with a keen eye for detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a can-do attitude approach
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Excellent command of written and spoken Maltese & English
- Proficiency in Microsoft software
