Transport Planner

We are looking to have a Transport Planner join our team. If you are passionate about making a difference, we are looking for a team player to contribute directly to the efficiency of our service. You will be mainly analysing existing traffic, performance, resources, forecasting needs and working to suggest improvements to help improve the service, utilising Company’s tools, and guidelines. More specifically, you will be responsible for:

Main responsibilities

• Allocation of buses to services utilising the Company's scheduling and allocation software following all the legal procedures and Company guidelines.
• Ensure all drivers are being allocated duties within safety parameters defined by the company.
• Conduct operational simulations of the above to the different services defined and propose solutions for better optimisation of resources.
• Analyse the transport network as well as studying the efficiency of routers from a company, customer and employee point of view to get a better understanding.
• Work closely with other departments to review and implement solutions where necessary to improve service.
• Support in and resolve day to day issues in line with role’s responsibility.
• Issue reports and support the Planning Manager as required.

Requirements:

• Degree level of education. Preferably in areas such as Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Environmental Studies, IT, Logistics Management, Sustainable Energy etc.
• Analytical skills.
• Extensive knowledge of Excel (including pivot tables, reports, etc).
• Proficient in both written and verbal English.
• Results oriented with methodical skills.
• Able to communicate effectively.
