Overall Purpose
The employee is responsible for the workshop service area in its totality.
Main Duties & Responsibility
- Regularly track, monitor and follow manufacturer service and repair systems to ensure full observance of manufacturer repair procedures / timings by all technicians.
- To follow warranty procedures and warranty timings in all types of repairs / services being done in the workshop.
- To closely monitor and report on technician performance in accordance with manufacturer repair timings.
- To work towards achieving the shortest possible key to key time.
- To plan, monitor and adjust weekly throughputs in line with the available technician’s team so as to achieve the highest permissible levels of productivity and efficiency.
- To work closely with the parts and warranty assistant manager so as to ensure timely delivery or require parts / accessories and to actively promote / upsell extended warranty and or service programmers.
- To conduct daily progress meetings and report any problems or unexpected delays to the workshop manager.
- To develop a list of workshop tools and special equipment. To monitor such tooling for its correct functioning. To take care of any servicing or calibration requirements of such tooling and to report any broken, lost / stolen tools immediately to the workshop manager.
- To ensure that protective equipment provided by the company is always used by employees.
- To tackle any customer complaints swiftly and to act as a point of reference to any customers requiring updating or assistance on anything related to the workshop.
- To ensure that jobs are completed within the pre-agreed time frame and to immediately advise all parties concerned when issues preventing the repair completion within pre-agreed repair time frames occur.
- To obtain any necessary consent from customers for any additional work or services required.
- To ensure that customer vehicles are adequately handled and all protective equipment is applied on all vehicles.
- To check job cards and WIPs for correct information.
- Liaise with warranty personnel regarding any warranty and goodwill claims
- To develop and implement a final inspection and quality check process with a sign of procedure.
- Test drive vehicles with customers to understand their concerns were necessary.
- Follow up with customer care to make sure every customer has been contacted during the day and any updates performed as well.
- Focus on the quality of work performed, aiming for a first-time right repair mentality.
- To make sure that job cards are properly filled in with technical findings and reports by the technicians and immediately passed on to the service reception for billing and customer contact purposes.
- To update all technician timings on WIPS to make sure that the correct amounts are invoiced by the service team.
- To make sure that all Technicians are always clocked on the correct jobs or options.
- To maintain and update technician training records.
- To identify, suggest and subsequently plan any technician training requirements.

Educational and skill requirements
- A’ Level standard of education
- Computer Literate
- Previous experience in a similar post or similar
