
About This Job
Our client, a leading professional services firm, is looking for an Assistant Manager – Audit to join their Audit team.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of allocated audit assignments, ensuring delivery of high-quality services that meet and exceed client expectations.
- Effectively manage the audit process, with appropriate consideration of audit risks and accounting technical matters.
- Lead and manage audit fieldwork on client sites, liaising with internal departments to ensure the smooth delivery of audit engagements.
- Review work prepared by audit team members and provide guidance and support where required.
- Identify areas for improvement within client business processes and prepare recommendations through management letters.
- Organise audit teams effectively, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and a balanced distribution of workload.
- Coach, mentor, and develop junior team members, supporting their professional growth and achievement of objectives.
- Provide feedback and input for performance reviews of team members.
- Contribute to effective teamwork across multiple engagements and departments.
- Deliver on-the-job training relating to auditing skills and audit methodologies.
- Ensure engagements are completed in accordance with professional standards, firm policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
- An Accounting qualification from a recognised university or professional body (such as ACCA) at MQF Level 6, preferably MQF Level 7.
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience in audit, with a proven track record in a similar role.
- Previous experience working with clients across a variety of industries.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and audit risk assessment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and computerised audit software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and team management capabilities.
- Ability to mentor, support, and develop junior staff.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
