About This Job

Our client, a well-established provider of business and commercial services in Malta, is seeking to recruit an Assistant Manager – Technology & Data Enablement (IT Operations Team Leader).

The position supports the firm's technology operations, cyber security governance / compliance activities, user onboarding, and assist in business technology initiatives while ensuring that IT services continue to meet operational and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • IT Operations & Team Leadership

    • Coordinate daily activities and priorities of the IT team.

    • Act as the main point of contact between the firm and external technology partners and service providers.

    • Ensure support requests are managed and resolved efficiently.

    • Maintain IT documentation, asset inventories, procedures, and operational records.

    • Support IT procurement, vendor management, and licence administration.

  • User Support & Workplace Technology

    • Coordinate the deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of laptops and end-user devices.

    • Conduct IT induction sessions and onboarding activities for new joiners.

    • Manage software installations, updates, and endpoint configuration.

    • Coordinate hardware repairs, rebuilds, and device replacements.

    • Provide technical support and guidance to staff across all service lines.

  • Microsoft 365 Administration

    • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.

    • Manage user accounts, permissions, group memberships, and access requests.

    • Support Microsoft Intune device enrolment and policy administration.

    • Assist with Microsoft Purview, information protection, document classification, and data governance initiatives.

    • Support adoption of Microsoft 365 and Power Platform technologies.

  • Governance, Risk & Compliance

    • Support the firm's compliance and regulatory obligations.

    • Coordinate evidence collection for audits, reviews, and compliance assessments.

    • Help maintain IT policies, standards, procedures, and control documentation.

    • Track remediation actions arising from audits, risk assessments, and security reviews.

    • Work with stakeholders to ensure technology controls remain effective and appropriately documented.

    • Support business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience activities.

    • Coordinate periodic access reviews and user lifecycle processes.

    • Assist with information security awareness and governance initiatives.

  • Security & Service Management

    • Review security reports, vulnerability findings, and recommendations provided by the

    • Managed Services Provider.

    • Coordinate remediation actions and internal follow-up activities.

    • Participate in incident management, escalation, and post-incident review activities.

    • Ensure security and operational issues are appropriately tracked and resolved.

    • Support ongoing improvements to the firm's security posture and technology governance framework.

  • Projects & Continuous Improvement

    • Assist with technology refresh programmes, data cleansing initiatives, and digital transformation projects.

    • Support implementation of new systems, processes, and automation solutions.

    • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and user experience.

    • Provide technology guidance to business teams and project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 4 years' experience in an IT Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, IT Support, or similar role.

  • Experience coordinating technical teams, suppliers, or service providers.

  • Strong troubleshooting and organisational skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Experience working within regulated or compliance-focused environments is desirable.

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.

  • Customer-focused with a service-oriented mindset.

  • Proactive and solutions-driven approach.

  • High attention to detail and documentation quality.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong sense of accountability, governance, and continuous improvement.


Strong working knowledge of:

  • Microsoft 365 Administration

  • Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive

  • Microsoft Intune

  • Microsoft Entra ID

  • Microsoft Purview

  • Windows 11 and Windows Server environments

  • Active Directory and Group Policy

  • Endpoint deployment and device lifecycle management

  • Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps (desirable)

  • Basic networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and wireless networking

  • IT asset management and software licensing

  • IT governance, cyber security best practices, and compliance frameworks
