
About This Job
AIMS International Malta is assisting our client, a company operating within the Corporate Services industry, with recruiting a Lead – Client Accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of management accounting, payroll, VAT, and tax compliance services to a portfolio of local and international clients.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing value-added support and guidance on accounting and tax-related matters.
- Supervise and monitor the work prepared by the accounting team to ensure policies, procedures, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Review management accounts, VAT returns, and tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Supervise and oversee the daily operations of the Client Accounting function.
- Ensure clients receive prompt responses and excellent service in relation to their requests and queries.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting processes.
- Keep abreast of local and international accounting and tax developments and contribute to the organisation's technical knowledge base.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback to team members to support their professional development.
- Establish and enforce accounting and tax methodologies, policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Assist the management team in identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
- Support the implementation of new processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Lead, motivate, and develop team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Requirements:
- University degree in Accounting or fully qualified ACCA or ACA professional.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience within a client accounting environment.
- Previous experience managing, supervising, or mentoring team members.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and motivate a team.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAPSME reporting standards.
- Good understanding of the Malta Income Tax Act and the Value Added Tax Act.
- Experience reviewing management accounts, VAT returns, payroll, and tax compliance deliverables.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Client-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Knowledge of taxation and/or liquidations would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
